This week we held a three day summer camp at the orphanage in Győr where Kathy ministers on a weekly basis. It was a wonderful time with a real presence of the Holy Spirit. Our friends, Eric, Heidi, Calvin and Muriel Barnes along with another family friend, Kulcsár Nárcisz, ministered to the children in the home. Everyday the children enjoyed worship music, a Bible message based on the superheros of the Bible (Moses, David and Jesus), handcrafts, sports and snacks. Eric taught the message daily and led the sports with help from Calvin. Heidi and Muriel led the handcrafts, Kathy and Nárcisz were the translators and general all around helpers. On the final day (after returning from Ireland), myself, Zsuzsi and Katica helped. We also had pizza on the final day which was a blessing not only to the children but to the carer who therefore didn’t need to cook that day.

A great blessing and encouragement was to see how interested and involved the carers were with the camp. In fact one lady came in on her day off for the final day of camp and brought her 24 year old daughter with her! All the kids were given Bibles as a gift on the final day and all the carers were given thank you cards with Bible verses. Please pray that their hearts would be opened to God and that we would see this orphanage become a place where Christ is loved and worshiped! Thank you to all those who prayed and partnered with us.

Today was the fifth and final occasion when a group of believers (including Kathy and Katica) went into a local orphanage for a Saturday morning of witnessing to children. This particular home has two separate floors. One floor is for children who are there on a temporary basis (parents may be in hospital or prison and have no one to care for them). This is the floor they have been to for five Saturdays, once a month for the last five months. Today the team led them in worship music (team members pictured above, we can’t show the kids, song lyrics pictured below), then told them a Bible message based on forgiveness. One of the kids, a seventeen year old boy showed great interest and asked how can he ask for forgiveness? Katica spoke with him afterwards and explained how to pray and ask for forgiveness. Please pray that he would ask Christ into his life.

Starting Wednesday June 24th Kathy will lead a group (including our dear friends from America, the Barnes family) for a three day vacation Bible school at this same home, however this time for children who live there on a permanent basis (their parents are dead or these kids have been taken into full-time state care if no immediate family can care for them). Please be in prayer for Eric as he leads the Bible messages and sport with help from Calvin, Heidi and Muriel as they lead the arts and crafts and worship time and for Kathy and others as they translate and communicate with the kids. Expect a report either June 26th or 27th!
