A few weeks ago we had the privilege to go into a home for disabled children. Zsuzsi has been to the home before, it was her teacher that brought a small group of young people, this time Katica and I joined too.
It was a rainy Saturday morning but as our car pulled into the parking lot we saw curious faces looking out the window and the kids were waving at us. The excitement continued as we went in, they could not wait to play with us, show us their toys or hug us. Words can not describe the feeling when one or two or three children try to get your attention and want you to spend time with them. Some of them can’t walk, some can’t talk but that did not seem to be a problem when they were playing with us. Please pray for the young people in this home, some go home to their parents at the weekends and holidays, some never do.
We are planning to revisit this home soon. If you feel led please donate to this cause. We know that they are always in need of fruit, toiletries, cleaning materials.
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)
Zsolti and I (Zsuzsi) are writing the blog today.
Today we went to the children’s home with mum and Katica. The children’s home is in Győr and we visit it often. We have started this ministry about 4 years ago with our youth group. There are 10 kids in the home, beetween the age of 7 and 17. We told them the Christmas story which they really enjoyed. We thought a lot about how to tell them this story because it is a story they all know and we wanted it to be meaningful. We talked about God’s love and the purpose of Jesus being born. We felt it went really well. Of course the kids were really happy for the gifts we brought to them. Think about it if you would like to support this ministry in the future. Pray about it and let us know. We are telling this story again tomorrow at a Christmas programme for kids. Please pray for us that it will go well. Thank you! 🙂
“And these are the days of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord!”
Exciting times are ahead!
Csilla has just started university in Veszprém this week. Zsuzsi and Katica are starting tomorrow. It is Zsuzsi’s third and Katica’s first year in high school. Please pray for a great school year for them and the other students.
Today Zsuzsi, Katica and I delivered the school supplies, some food and other essencials we purchased for the childrens home. The social workers and the children were very thankful.
Thank you to those who gave towards this and are praying for us. Every contribution makes a difference, however small! “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” /2 Corinthians.9:7/
Please continue to pray as I (Kathy) begin helping some of the children and maybe a staff member with their English at the home.
Take time to look at the pictures we took today. As you can see the kids were really happy for the gifts. 🙂
Blessings from the McNamara family!
Over the last few weeks we have collected bags of clothes for the kids in the children’s home in Győr. On the 26th of August Zsuzsi and I are going in to give the clothes.
As school is about to start soon (1Sept.) the children in the home need school supplies. We are hoping to buy exercise books, pens, pencils and etc. If you feel you would like to help us in this work let us know.
And from the start of the school year I (Kathy) will also be helping the kids with their English. Please pray that I can talk to the kids about the Lord and His love as I get to know them.
Please also pray for our family for health and a good start of the new school year.
We already mentioned the CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) course which the girls ( Katica,Zsuzsa ) were attending. This Saturday they finished the course succesfully.
The girls would like to share their experience:
Throughout the course we learnt so much about kids, God and ourselves! It was a great opportunity to spend our Saturdays with other believers and to get to know more about teaching the gospel.
I learnt different ways of teaching the gospel which I find realy usefull and interesting. And also I see the areas where I need improvement. (Zsuzsi)
I think God led me to this course and I feel that He wants me to continue in children’s ministry. I hope to do the second course.(Katica)
Thank you to our supporters for making this possible!
Zsuzsi and Katica are attendig a CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) course over the next few weeks. It is a 40-hour course where they learn about teaching non-christian kids about God.
The course is held on 5 Saturdays from 9 to 16:30. The girls need extra prayer as they have school from Monday to Friday and find it hard to get up early on Saturday mornings too. 🙂 However, they always come home excited after the long day.
So far they have learned to present the Wordless Book and how to teach memory verses.
They are really enjoying the course and are ready to use their new skills.
