‘When the game stands tall’ is a movie based on a true story about a high school American football team being led by a man of faith. Tonight the young people at the Friday night club are watching it. Led by Kathy this evening, a group of 15 came together to worship God, fellowship and enjoy the movie.
It was great to meet Marci this evening. This young man with special needs recently came to the Lord (at the end of August) and he finds this group a place of acceptance and love. We are honoured and blessed to know these young leaders that God is raising up!
Please continue to pray for these young men and women! Please pray in particular for Aisling and Reni the main leaders of the group.
This evening I was blessed to be able to give a presentation on missions to a group of about a dozen young Christian leaders. These young men and women are serving this week at a camp for children and every evening they will have a guest speaker. They had 19 kids turn up today! One of those is a boy from the orphanage we work in and praise God he gave his life to the Lord this summer!!!
They listened well, asked tough and searching questions and were a joy to be with!
It is such a blessing to see so many young adults we have been blessed to work with over the years, such as Alan, Joey and Petra.
Please pray for Csaba this week as he leads.
Last night we were privileged to be apart of a Bible study group in Shannon, Co. Clare. This multinational, multi denominational group of young men and women are on fire for the Lord! With members from Ireland, Togo and India (to name just a few countries), these folks are true representatives of God’s Kingdom on Earth.
They are currently studying 1 Peter 1 and their knowledge and wisdom was exceptional. Worship before and after the service was incredibly dynamic and Spirit filled.
They listened to our presentation and asked intelligent and insightful questions about ministry in Hungary and the Middle-East.
Thanks to Alec, Pearl and Elton Good for their hospitality. If you are in Shannon why not pop along and visit?
Zsuzsi has recently had her first experience of leading Bible study for the Friday night youth group. She has now taught twice from the Gospel of John. She found it challenging but extremely useful as she could learn so much whilst preparing. After her baptism three of her classmates have joined the group. Please pray for Marci, Peti and David.
The youth of this group need your prayers. They are standing strong in their faith, growing in the Lord and in numbers. However they have had to deal with serious issues within the group.
As parents we feel truly blessed that our daughters and other young people have a safe Christian environment to study the Word. Please continue to pray for the group as they break for the Summer that every one of the group members would continue their walk with the Lord. Also please pray for the leaders Larry and Melinda and the other adults involved in helping (Kathy also helps here on occasion).
Zsuzsi and Katica are attendig a CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) course over the next few weeks. It is a 40-hour course where they learn about teaching non-christian kids about God.
The course is held on 5 Saturdays from 9 to 16:30. The girls need extra prayer as they have school from Monday to Friday and find it hard to get up early on Saturday mornings too. 🙂 However, they always come home excited after the long day.
So far they have learned to present the Wordless Book and how to teach memory verses.
They are really enjoying the course and are ready to use their new skills.
Every Friday night in Győr a group of high school/college age kids meet together to worship God, read his Word and fellowship with one another. This ministry is run by a Baptist couple with a heart for reaching the youth of the city. I come on occasion to help supervise these wonderful young believers and seekers, Every week they divide into one group of boys and two groups of girls for Bible study after a time of singing modern worship songs. Recently the group has grown so large (40 or so) that they now need to begin meeting in two seperate locations! Please pray that this time of transition/multiplication would go smootly and that even more young men and women would join and come to know Christ as their Saviour.
This past Friday I led the Bible study for a group of nine teenage boys and we studied 2 Thessalonians 3 together. Their insight and commitment to the work of the Lord is truly amazing!
I am also very thankful to the Lord that our girls attend this group on a regular basis. Please pray that Csilla, Zsuzsi and Katica would grow closer to Jesus day by day. “Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you”. 2 Thessalonians 3:1
